It's Messy Middle Mondays
Happy Monday Reader!
I have something really special for you on this Messy Middle Monday.
Over the years, I’ve been blessed to work with women who say the same thing in different ways: “I want to grow — but I want it to feel organized, intentional, and sustainable.”
And in those conversations, one of two things always happens for me:
- I’m reminded of the hard-earned lessons from my own entrepreneurial journey, or
- I’m inspired by their commitment to end the cycle of bottlenecking, decision fatigue, and being the one holding everything together.
That’s exactly why I created CEO Debriefs — as an extension of Messy Middle Mondays.
Some challenges are too layered, too real, too nuanced for a quick newsletter read. They need to be unpacked in conversation, in community, with honesty.
The stories are real.
The lessons are timely.
And the time commitment is 8 minutes or less.
For this CEO Debrief, I sat down with my dear friend and colleague Nic LaProsperous, aka The Brainstorming Bestie, to talk about something I see constantly with women running businesses:
Vision without structure is just pressure.
Here’s my truth.
I knew my business was in trouble long before the financial signs showed up.
About 18 months before I dissolved my former company, I started adding more meetings. More check-ins. More touchpoints. My partners and I even added a second weekly meeting, hoping clarity would magically appear.
What I needed to hear back then was this:
Clarity doesn’t come from more meetings.
It comes from a structured vision.
Without that structure, the pressure just gets heavier. You keep doing more, asking for more input, trying to compensate — and quietly burning out.
In this conversation, Nic and I talk about:
- how misalignment shows up before things fall apart
- why doing “all the right things” can still feel exhausting
- and how operationalizing your vision is what actually creates relief
If you’ve ever felt like:
- your ideas are multiplying faster than your focus
- your team is busy but not anchored
- or your success doesn’t feel as good as it should
This is a must-watch.
I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
